Merlins school of magic at Legoland Manchester

A curse has been cast over Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester and Merlin needs help breaking the spell. If you think you’re up for the task then pop over to Legoland Manchester to experience a magical day.

We were invited down to Legoland which is nestled away in the Trafford Centre. It’s a place we have frequently visited previously and a place which continues to keep my kids happy no matter how old they get.

The theme throughout this Summer is based on magic and merlin. Many large and fascinating sculptures of Lego have been created in the form of wizards and it certainly made us wonder just how long it takes to create them.

The kingdom quest ride as pictured above is a fun laser quest in the dark where everyone shoots the lasers and tries to acquire the most points in their car.

Then it’s through to the main area where we found many fascinating Lego sculptures and Lego buildings of various landmarks. There is a large Ninjago city adventure area with a huge 3 storey play house type building (slides, tunnels, ropes etc). A massive build table with thousands upon thousands of Lego bricks, and this rotating wall.

I think the idea with this is to climb as high as possible whilst the wall moves and not end up falling off the bottom.

Merlins apprentice is another fun ride, located in the main area. It’s one of those rides which spins round and riders pedal. The faster we pedal the higher we go.

And the fun doesn’t end there. As well as all these mentioned activities, there are also many more. Including – creative workshops, 4D cinema, a new VR experience, Ranger pursuit cars, Lego racers, a factory tour and so much more. There is also a cafeteria area for when you get hungry.

On the way out we also found Merlin his self! And Izebella was treated to a few magic tricks along with a little prize souvenir.

And don’t forget, Sea life Manchester is also right next door to Legoland and is certainly worth a visit. Unfortunately on this occasion we just didn’t have time to do both.
