It’s all too easy to feel overwhelmed by big tasks, especially if we don’t have a plan to follow. Create a step-by-step list, however, and you’ll be more likely to reach your goal. If you’re trying to get on top of things, why not think about how you’ll get there first? Work out the journey backwards to gain a clear idea of each step you need to take. That way, you’ll be able to simplify your life admin project. 2. Stay on top of daily tasks

So, you’ve set yourself long-term targets – but what about your daily tasks? We’re talking about boring household chores. When we’re striving towards a larger target – like fulfilling long-term aims – it’s often tempting to ignore these duties. Do this, though, and you could end up with more to do than you started with. The solution? Make sure to stay on top of these responsibilities. 

Your washing up? Do it after you’ve finished tea! The laundry? As soon as you’ve got enough clothes to fit inside the drum, put them onto wash. Those piles of shoes that you’ve left lying around for ages? Put them in storage cupboards! Do everything regularly, and you won’t have to worry about having to do extra work. 3. Sort through your floor piles 

Are your floors, like many, home to piles of random items? Have you been meaning to sort through and tidy their contents away, but just haven’t had the time? Well, you may want address this issue – and fast. Schedule in some time – say a weekend – to really examine these piles before deciding what to keep and what to discard of. If you’ve got a crucial bill coming up, for example, make a note of it in your phone while it’s in your head. Even better, write it down on post-it notes and then attach these to your walls. If you stick them onto surfaces that you always see during your morning routine – such as your bedside table, bathroom mirror or front door – you’ll be guaranteed to keep track of vital dates in your calendar. And while we’re on the subject of calendars… 5. Share your calendar

Ever made plans with friends or relatives, only to forget about them soon afterwards? This is a common problem – but one that can easily be avoided. Once again, it comes down to setting yourself reminders. How about going beyond this by sharing your email calendar with your friends, family and – if you want – your colleagues. You’ll then be able to check upcoming outings and plans on the move.
