Mask ‘N’Ask review & competition (CLOSED)

Mask 'N' Ask is the latest board game by popular game manufacturers Drumond Park It is a really fun game based on the popular “Who Am I” party game and would make a great Christmas present. RRP £16.99

The game is for two to four players and has a recommended age guide of 7 years and above, however Jordanna is 6 and had no problems playing and joining in the fun.

Inside the box is a double sided game board (animals & humans), 30 double sided masks, four different coloured playing pieces and matching colour glasses and reminder tokens.

To play the game we first had to decide whether to play the animal board(different animals) or the human board which has characters such as wizards, clowns, firemen plus characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes. Once decided the 30 masks are placed down (masks also have human/animal to correspond with chosen board side and the playing side are face down so you cannot see what you choose). The masks then clip to the glasses and placed on each players face. This is quite funny seeing everyone with a silly mask on and Ryan and Jordanna found it hilarious at first.

Once the masks were on it was time to play. Each player takes turns to spin the spinner on the board and moves around the board. When they land on a square they will see a question which they then ask the other players. (The questions will also correspond with each of the playing boards. Human questions may be do I wear glasses. Animals – do I have spots etc.) the other players can see each others masks so will answer yes or no. The reminder tokens are placed on question squares to remind players of answers. Each player has to try and guess their own mask when it's their turn by asking the questions they land on. When players correctly guess their mask they take it off and put on another one, the winner is the first to guess all three masks. Of course I won the first game. There is also a handy correct answer chart enclosed to just incase other players are unsure of the correct answer. This comes in handy for younger players.

We have had lots of fun playing our new game. It's quite educational as well as fun, learning small facts etc and using your imagination to work things out.

I think I would enjoy wearing an Indian Chief mask to a party. As I could find or make an outfit to go along with it. If there was a drought I could do a rain dance, enjoying the activity and light-hearted tone of the party. I think I’d ask a friend to join me at the party, and suggest an Indian Squaw outfit be worn. We could see if we could acquire a baby doll, and make a improvised papoose. The very thought is getting me excited about halloween not being long away.
