Genius began in 2009, starting out with brown and white loaves and has quickly developed to include other ranges such as pies, fruit loaves and many others.
The products they sell are all “Gluten free If you are unsure what gluten is then basically it is a protein found in the cereals wheat, rye and barley. When it’s mixed with water gluten forms sticky strands that bind mixtures together and trap bubbles to form the light and airy structure of bread and cakes.
Luckily neither myself nor my children have gluten allergies but many people do and the levels of gluten sensitivity vary from person to person meaning some people need to find products which are totally gluten free. Obviously gluten free products are made using different ingredients and methods.
I was sent over some vouchers to buy some Genius products. I managed to buy a white loaf and some seeded rolls both of which made great sandwiches and didnt taste much different to similar products containing gluten.
Genius products are available in most supermarkets. I found mine in Tesco in the Gluten free aisle (not bread aisle)
